You don't see the wild side of Hanna in these photos.

Great smile, Hanna!

It was Monument Day at school where the kids play a historic figure. Nina got President McKinley. She did a great job!

Burst into tears(in a good way).

e0028272_10515574.jpg

The typical Saturday night with Daddy's absent(gone for games), the kids and I had a movie night and this time we picked up "Lassie" .

We snuggled in our blankets, ate popcorn. Everything was so cozy. Until Lassie(the dog) saved the boy's life from drowning but then she herself drowned in the river. OMG, we burst into tears!!! Especially Nina. She got so emotional and cried so hard. In the end, Lassie was alive and got home safely. It was a happy ending. Whew! I found this whole event was kind of cute knowing that all the kids have good hearts!

Here was another tearful moment....

We attended the youth music program and listened to their music and poems.

This song was one of them. By the end of this song, a lot of the audience was teary eyed. It is amazing how different forms of art can trigger emotional responses and bring us closer to each other.

So yeah, how many tears did we cry this weekend? Countless, but not really tears of sadness!

Multicultural Day at School.

Multicultural Day at school was a lot of fun. Visiting all different countries and tried out the foods, the crafts (and they were all in a small gym. Great!) was absolutely special experience for the kids and even for the big kids.

Matt and I presented Japan. I was busy with writing their names in Japanese calligraphy, though seeing their faces lighted up saying "Cool!" makes me feeling good.

Matt fell in love with German foods(again). Needless to say, he spent the weekend afternoon to cook some. It was so delish!

We are already looking forward to attending to the next year!

Protein sources

e0028272_9313044.jpg

I have been vegetarian over a year and half now( but I occasionally enjoy meat now and then;).

This is a good protein source chart and helps me to know what is good to eat since I am about starting a serious training for a full marathon(maybe it is already too late?) in early fall and I need a lot of protein to keep me going.

As a Japanese, Tofu is naturally my favorite protein source(but expensive here;( I never tried Tempeh and have been curious about it. Thanks to Pinterest to give me a lot of ideas for cooking. Let's give it a try!
